I've always loved Mr. Mister's music, but I have to admit that I didn't even know who Richard Page was until recently :P Now that I've discovered him and his post-80's music I just absolutely LOVE him! I've enjoyed reading through his blog posts - and is it just me or is anyone else bummed out that he hasn't posted anything in almost two years?? The stories he's told in them have given great insight as to who he is as a person and I wish he'd write more often (or at all these days). Just wondering...

Richard is great!
But if you've checked out the post-80's music... be sure to check out the pre-80's music as well.

Who knows why this is. Musicians are very sensitive and often private people despite their public persona. Reading between the lines, the demise of Mr Mr following the rejection of such a finely honed, deep and inspiring album (Pull), the subsequent pulling of a contract on Shelter Me, the metamorphosis of a natural and charismatic frontman to a more behind the scenes song writer, must have been devastating and de-identifying. In the end, a man also has to support his family and the pure struggle just to survive in a fickle industry, to set up a solo business and ride on the winds of fortune would most certainly have taken their toll. Sometimes people just need their space, sometimes a lot of it. Best of wishes to you.
