Hey Richard. Just wanted to give you shout out from Oklahoma. I've been a high school art teacher for 20 plus years at Lone Grove HS. I'm a traveling musician outside of school with a Christian band called Fullers Field and I've been a huge fan of yours forever. We listen to music continuously in my classroom so don't fear, this generation is getting a heavy dose of Mr Mister and your other activities. A lot of young new fans in the south my friend. Have a Merry Christmas.

I note other similar comments. Not everyone is on Facebook, sometimes for good reasons. It would be good if this webpage were updated along with the other sites. I also note that you are not in the line up for the European Tour with the All Starr band next year. I was hoping it might come to Australia. Any exciting news?
Kind regards.

My favourite voice/songs of the 80s. When I saw on You Tube that you had performed in Santa Monica 2016 and that I had missed you by a matter of weeks I was pretty disappointed. Seeing you perform would have been the icing on the cake during my honeymoon. My husband still likes to tease me about it! May be next time I am in the US...

Mr. Page. This is a bit of a long shot, but here goes. My sons and I were talking about famous people we have met and the following was one story I was happy to share with them. Do you happen to remember the Summer of 1986 tour when Mr Mister played Merriweather Post pavilion in Columbia, MD? My friends and I were at the Columbia mall and we were pulling in to the lot by the Hecht's department store. As we passed by two guys standing on the curb waiting, my friend riding shotgun said "that's Richard Page and Steve George from Mr Mister!" We, of course did not believe him, so we circled the lot and pulled up in front of the two guys to ask. To our amazement, it was you and Steve. You said you were at the mall to buy underwear, as you had been on tour for a while! We offered and you guys accepted a ride back to the Hilton Hotel in Columbia. We were in my black 1972 Cuda. You offered tickets to the concert that evening, but at the time we were all working together at a pizza shop and all had to work that evening. Just wondering if, by any chance, you remember that? Look forward to hearing back. Thank you.
Dan

Dear Richard Page

Hello how are you, I truly enjoy the great music of Mr Mister! I am a gay writer of poetry and I have three books of my poems published. I am sending you four of my poems in hopes that they will become songs. Is it possible to get an autographed photo of you… I wish you all of my very best!

One Final Kiss

I love you, what more can I say
I’ll never be one to stand in your way

A million stars paint the night sky
I wish you didn’t have to say goodbye

We shared a love that burned like a flame
I see no reason to lay blame

We walked hand in hand into the sunset
We made memories that I will never forget

We grew together and somehow grew apart
Once we shared a connection of the heart

These years how quickly they have passed
Always hoped our relationship was built to last

You say your freedom is what you truly desire
Your words are the water on the fire

I’ll surely miss you when you’re gone
I am no good at living alone

So many things I’m going to miss so much
Including the magic of your touch

Turn away I have already started to cry
Swore I I’d love you till the day I die

Your bags are packed with no regrets
It is clear you can’t forgive and forget

Faded rose petals lay on the floor
You’ve got your hand upon the door

If you must go spread your wings and fly
One final kiss and then we’ll say goodbye

Gary Edward Allen 2016

You’ve Got Me in Chains

All of your promises lay broken on the floor
Makes me wonder what else you have in store

Are you trying to place me in chains?
So little of my love for you still remains

I’m caught in the cobwebs of your desire
Could swear that even my dreams are on fire

You should really count your blessings
Instead you always keep me second guessing

You want all of me and won’t settle for anything less
While you are at my side I’m far from being my best

You are even stalking me within my dreams
Can this cold reality be as bleak as it can seem

I’ve always been a faithful lover to you
But you own a cold heart that can’t be true

When I have to wake up next to you
I’m often left feeling sad and blue

Your words are so often cruel and unkind
Hope there is still time to change my mind

You’ve got my in chains from head to toe
Will I ever break free, it’s hard to know

This unhappy house no longer feels like my home
Think I would be far better off all on my own

I want to kiss you and your controlling ways goodbye
And reach out and touch the early morning sky

I’ll be gone before tomorrow’s sun sets
I’ll be on the winding road of no regrets

My Spirit

My spirit so much younger than the sun
Come sunrise a brand new day has begun

I say a holy prayer to our Lord Above
May he shelter me in the arms of his love?

My spirit was lost like a small boat on a stormy sea
My heart was found I just had to learn to believe

I found and lost much love through the seasons
I’m still trying hard to find all love’s reasons

I just want to feel his endlessly loving arms around me
So I can be happy that his sacred heart has found me

Lord I pray please bring me into your everlasting light
Allow the star filled skies to brighten even my darkest night

Let me walk in the footprints you left in the sand
Allow me to live to the fullest of a mortal man

I have so many inspired hopes and dreams
Can you bring their bounty closer than it seems

In the darkness of night I often kneel to pray
Will you answer my prayers in your loving way?

I my life so much bitter rain has fallen
All the while my wild heart was calling

I’ve been an unwitting victim to all of life’s mistakes
But I’m going to battle heart and soul for all it takes

I took a long walk by the river of tears
Remembering all of those bygone years

There are millions upon millions of stars in the midnight sky
Can’t allow another precious moment to simply pass me by

Let my spirit soar through the skies like the white dove
Gathering well wishes on a journey of peace and love

By Gary Edward Allen 2017

A Thousand Stars

The full moon hangs low in the sky
A thousand stars shine in your eyes

You fill me with a want and desire
Take me and set my heart on fire

Your hands are magic to the touch
Never knew I wanted this so much

While lying beside you face to face
I get completely lost in your embrace

Seal my fate with your passionate kiss
Dance with the waves in the mist

Lying here on a moonlit beach
Heavenly stars no longer out of reach

As the waves crash upon the golden beach
My loving hands are outreached

This is no time for crying tears’
Don’t say we wasted all of those years

I have been loving you so long
You give me the sense that I belong

My heart is yours and your heart mine
This feeling of love isn’t hard to define

A thousand stars shining within your eyes
Please don’t allow this true love to ever die

Hey Rich! Just picked up the new Revolution Saints CD and was shocked to see one of my fav songs of yours on there...I Wouldn't Change A Thing. Huge production on the tune in stark contrast to your stripped down original...but still very well done and sung by Dean Castronovo. Have you heard their version yet?

Thanks and have a great weekend! How about some more new tunes?? All the best...

Hi Richard,

In 1987 you gave a song writers clinic at Musician's Institute. I was there that evening (I was attending PIT). I wasn't sure what I was going to do with what you were going to tell/show us but I have had my hand in a few tunes that have had some success since.

But that's not why I am writing you.

During the clinic you told us the story about your second born Daughter's birth and the uncertain weeks that followed as she was born gravely ill. After telling the story you played, "Power Over Me"., just you and the piano. There wasn't a dry eye in the room, in case you didn't know.

Fast forward to 2003 and the birth of my Daughter, Sarah, born seven weeks premature. She spent the next two months in the hospital and every day I thought of that song and the night you shared with us your own story. It got me through those days and nights when we too were not sure what would happen to our baby girl.

I am happy to say Sarah is a healthy and tall (!) 14 year old girl today, Last night she and I sat down to our own listening party of "Go On". I told her your story about "Power Over Me". Again, not a dry eye as we looked at each other.

Thank you for that special moment with my girl. It is a gift to demonstrate the power of a song and one so personal. A great song can stand on it's own with a single voice, one instrument, and change people. It why we do what we do and share it, hoping others can be changed or healed.

In summary, I guess every once in a while a song writer needs to hear that their song still has all the emotional impact that it did the day it was penned and is important to someone they don't know.
That's what you have done and although we are just two of perhaps millions, I thought it important to take a moment to say thank you for the song, the clinic and what happened last night.

Dear Richard,
beeing a huge fan for a long time I would like to know, if it´s possible to get a sheet of the choir-arrangement from your wonderful version of Lo How A Rose E´re Blooming.
Being a member of a small mixed choir of non-professionels in Germany I would really like to perform this in our next christmas-concert in church. And I have to admit that it takes two month of work for me trying to write it down. And even this would fail... It would be really great if there is a possibility to buy it. I also send an email with this to RPM.
But my biggest wish is that you will come to Germany for some concerts some day so I can listen to your great voice and wonderful music live.
Best regards
Norbert

Hi Richard,

I'm posting on behalf of myself and my son Tommy who's 5. We both love listening to your music and Tommy loves watching your videos, singing along and doing your moves. His favourite song is Kyrie as is mine, it's timeless and brilliant. We're going to get a picture to go on his wall amongst the power rangers and super heroes with you being his first real hero! I asked Tommy if he met you and could ask you any question what would it be and he would want to know what your absolute favourite food is and also do you eat cereal for breakfast like he does? He would be more excited than you know if you had the time to answer his questions.

Kind regards
Jim & Tommy Patston.

Hello Richard,

I have already chatted online with your Admin on your FB page. If you look, you will see why I was trying to get a message to you before tomorrow as I gave more detailed info there. A very dear friend of ours died unexpectedly last Sunday morning. We were all in complete shock. His name was Tod and he was just 53 years old. His memorial service is being held tomorrow morning here in NC and it will be terribly sad but I wanted to somehow make sure your song Kyrie would be heard or mentioned then. March, 2013 when he, his wife and a couple of other close friends of ours were hanging out at our house, Tod was humming your song Kyrie but couldn't remember the name and it was driving him nuts since he LOVED that song. I did some checking on my phone and figured it out. We then played that song over and over, all singing it out loud in our kitchen. I loved that song as well from the 80's as I was in high school back then. Ever since that night, we can't hear that song without thinking of Tod. I posted your Kyrie video on my FB (I'm a very private person and I only created it because of a son in the Army Nat. Guard so it's just for family and close friends) page also along with some crazy photos from that particular night. His wife shared them on hers. We are very saddened and atleast have that memory among others to remember him fondly. Love your band. Bless you all.
In His Love,
Rae

What is the name of the beautiful song you performed? I believe it was the 2nd song in your set.

Thanks!

Dear Richard,

First of all, thanks for the fantastic Music and Inspiration. You are one of my earliest influences.

With everyone and their brother & sister calling themselves "Producers" these days, although not credited, I would wager that you have been involved in the development of some great music that we never realized.

It would be great to know some of the behind the scenes music work you do in addition to your already well known accomplishments as a songwriter and performer.

Regards,

Dear Richard,
Many years we have been following your music. Your latest album was more than just music for us. We got inspired by it and emotional overwhelmed.

On our new album "Mixed Up!" (Zingga) we took the liberty to record 'Diamonds". During the last stage, the mixing, we sat down with tears in our eyes because of the beauty of your song. Thank you so much for sharing this with us....

Dear Richard...
Hi, I'm 47 years old and have always loved the song; "Broken Wing". The song has always been a comfort, to me. The song is amazing, and filled with much emotion. I just watched the video, on Amazon.com and it took me back; to my teenage years. I'm so happy, to have found your website. I can only hope, to see you live and in concert someday. Music soothes my soul, and your music definitely does that. :-) Do you and the original band members still tour together?
Wishing you and your family much love, light and peace!!! <3
Hugs from PA.
your new friend,
Kelly :-)

Hi Richard!
I really dig your music and your playing and singing! Thanks for great songs!!!!!

Do you do vocal tracks for other composers? Is there any chance to get you singing on my album as a special guest, just for one song?

Take care,

Hi Richard,
My name is Vanessa. I'm 17 and I live in Missouri. I love your band Mr Mister! It's my favorite! My favorite song is Broken Wings, but I love all of your other songs, too. I first heard a bit of broken wings while listening to a playlist with a ton of 80's music on it. I instantly loved it. It's such a beautiful and we'll composed song. The music your band made was so perfect for listening in every day life. It's so upbeat and original. My favorite part though is your voice, it gives me chills! I just love it! I have one of your records, "Welcome to the Real World". My dream is to get your autograph on the front. I also have one of your concert t-shirts from 1986-1987. It was impossible to find one of your t shirts from any concert. They are very rare. Luckily, my favorite vintage clothing store on Etsy found one for me! I was so excited! I love it! I just want to personally thank you and Pat, Steve, and Steve for creating such wonderful music for all of us to enjoy.

Richard,

Had the privilege of hearing you perform at Cafe Aroma on August 6th. It was my wife Virginia's birthday, and it was a very special evening. A special thanks to Keith McCabe for putting the evening together.

I spoke with you briefly about "Within You Without You" and the origins of the song George Harrison wrote all those years ago. Very spiritual and insightful.

I was inspired to buy your CD "Peculiar Life". I was really moved down to my Soul; it really spoke to me in a way that an album of songs has not done in years. Thank you for giving everyone such an inspired, honest, and beautiful masterpiece. I have shared the iTunes download and your website with my friends and hope they will purchase it and enjoy it as much as I do. I have ordered Pull and look forward to hearing it as well.

I live in the Atlanta Georgia and hope one day you will make it out this way. There is a great venue that is just now being restored called the Variety Playhouse that would be perfect for you. Many great artists have performed there.

In closing, I am grateful for you and your music and may God bless you in your ongoing life journey. (And oh yes, thanks for singing happy birthday to my Sweet Virginia at Cafe Aroma!)

Hey brother,

When I was 12 years old I used to lip sing your songs to my mother when we were going through some pretty hard times. Divorce etc, but when I would lip sing broken wings to her our troubles would seem to disappear. I thank you for your music and I hope you have eased pain for others as you eased mine.

Hi Richard, Saw you and Ringo's fabulous band last night in Staten Island. I've been a fan for some 30+ years and I could still listen to you sing all night. How great is it that Ringo has assembled such an incredible group of musicians to bless us with such a wonderful evening of music! Truly, among the best, tightest, and most enjoyable touring acts these days.

Although I have to confess, EVERYONE in the band is terrific, but you happen to be the main attraction for me. I'm giddy with happiness that your amazing voice is still virtually as powerful and secure - and every bit as beautiful - as it was thirty years ago. You are very fortunate - and so are we.

I figure that as great as these songs are, it must get tiresome sometimes singing Kyrie and Broken Wings every show, but I'm sure you also realize how phenomenal it is for us to get to hear them. I never get tired of those, but please do know that I - and all your fans - realize that your music is about so much more than just those two songs. Please remember: your fans may treasure those two, but we value and cherish the rest of your body of work - both with all your bands over the years and your solo work - just as much. (And btw, You are Mine is a real highlight of the show for me, as well. Gorgeous song!)

Any chance at all of a solo tour, or with your own band, somewhere in the New York area any time? Or maybe an acoustic gig in a small club (LOVE those videos online from a few years ago!).

Peace and love from Brooklyn, Marie
